The short answer
Jaewon Choi is the Executive Director and Founder of the DMUN Foundation, a youth-led non-profit organisation he established in 2021. He founded it with a simple conviction: that the doors of diplomacy should be open to every young person, everywhere.
Leadership of the DMUN Foundation
As Executive Director, Jaewon Choi guides the Foundation’s mission and strategic vision, oversees its programmes, and serves as its principal representative to the United Nations and the wider multilateral system. Under his leadership, DMUN has grown from a single online conference into a community of 27,284 members across 172 countries and territories, accredited in over 62 intergovernmental entities and meetings.
Engagement at the United Nations
Mr. Choi has delivered statements and interventions across the intergovernmental system, from the floor of the UN General Assembly Hall to the Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development (FfD4), the UN High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development, the negotiations on the UN Framework Convention on International Tax Cooperation, and the ECOSOC High-level Segment. He has also served in mandate roles for the Major Group for Children and Youth, including as Thematic Focal Point on Tax of its Financing for Development Youth Constituency.
