Brand Use Policy
How the DMUN name, acronym and emblem may be used.
The name “DMUN Foundation”, the acronym “DMUN”, the names of the Foundation’s programmes, and the Foundation’s emblem and logos are the property of the DMUN Foundation. They identify the Foundation and its work, and their use is governed by this policy.
Use of the Foundation’s name, acronym or emblem in a way that states or implies the Foundation’s endorsement, affiliation, sponsorship or approval requires the prior written authorisation of the Foundation.
Use that does not require authorisation
- Factual, non-commercial references to the Foundation and its work, including in news reporting, academic writing and commentary;
- Truthful statements of fact by participants and members, such as stating that a person took part in a Foundation programme or holds membership;
- Linking to the Foundation’s official websites, provided the link does not imply endorsement.
Use that is not permitted
- Use of the name, acronym or emblem for commercial purposes, including on products, services or paid events;
- Fundraising or the collection of money or personal information in the Foundation’s name without written authorisation;
- Use of the emblem or logos in modified, distorted or partial form, or combined with other marks;
- Use that states or implies an endorsement, partnership, accreditation or observer status that has not been granted;
- Registration of domain names, social media accounts or organisation names that imitate the Foundation or are likely to cause confusion.
Authorised users
The organs, departments, offices, services and autonomous agencies of the Foundation use the name and emblem in the course of their official functions. Partners, observers, Accredited Entities and Invited Entities may use the name and emblem to the extent set out in their agreements with the Foundation.
Requesting authorisation
To request authorisation to use the Foundation’s name, acronym or emblem, write to enquiries@dmun.org with a description of the intended use, the context in which it would appear, and the duration for which authorisation is sought. Requests are reviewed by the Secretariat.
