23 September 2026

On 23 September 2026, Mr. Dulguun Damdin-Od, Executive Director of the International Think Tank for Landlocked Developing Countries (ITTLLDC), together with members of the ITTLLDC International Youth Advisory Board, met Mr. Phetvanxay Khousakoun, Director of the United Nations Economic and Social Affairs Division in the Department of International Organizations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, on the margins of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.

The delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic addresses the meeting.

The Foundation, which is Technical Secretariat of the Youth Advisory Board, was represented by Mr. Alejandro Nathaniel Lawson, Senior Officer and Head of the Technical Secretariat of the Board.

The sides held cordial discussions on the ITTLLDC’s work to advance the shared interests of landlocked developing countries, including connectivity and aviation, climate change, critical minerals, youth engagement, and the effective implementation of the Awaza Programme of Action.

Both sides called for stronger regional and international cooperation, knowledge-sharing, research and development, and collective action on the structural challenges faced by landlocked developing countries and on their inclusive and sustainable development.
