Representatives led by Peter Tian joined the High-level Meeting commemorating the 30th anniversary of the World Programme of Action for Youth, reaffirming support for its review and implementation.
The World Programme of Action for Youth, adopted in 1995, remains the UN's framework policy on young people. At the commemorative high-level meeting the Foundation reaffirmed its support for the Programme's review and called for its implementation to be resourced, measured and reported.
Advocacy of this kind sits at the centre of the Foundation's mandate: bringing the lived experience of children and young people into the rooms where decisions about them are made. Statements are delivered by young representatives themselves, most of them under twenty-five.
