The delegation took part in the eighth Meeting of the Parties, the fifth session of the Protocol on PRTRs, and the Joint High-level Segment, delivering plenary statements on access to environmental information and justice.
The Aarhus Convention guarantees rights of access to information, public participation and justice in environmental matters. Across the Meeting of the Parties, the PRTR Protocol session and the Joint High-level Segment, the Foundation's delegation pressed for those rights to be applied fully to children and young people.
The Foundation holds accreditations and observer arrangements across the United Nations system, which allow its representatives to take the floor in intergovernmental meetings. Interventions are prepared by the Secretariat and, where applicable, coordinated with the Major Group for Children and Youth, whose constituency the Foundation regularly represents.
