Frequently asked questions
How much does membership cost?
Nothing. Membership of the Foundation is free of charge, as are all of its programmes.
Who can become a member?
Any individual who supports the mission and values of the Foundation, and any youth-led or youth-serving organisation aligned with its mission, core values and work.
How do I join as an individual?
Register for any Foundation programme, or apply through the Foundation’s digital forum. Registration automatically grants provisional member status; upon approval by the Board of Trustees you become a full member.
What is provisional membership?
Provisional members have access to the Foundation’s programmes and may participate as observers in meetings of the Governing Body, but do not hold voting rights until the Board of Trustees approves their full membership.
How does an organisation join?
Through the adhesion process: an Adhesion Request to the Board of Trustees, direct negotiation of the terms of membership, and signature of the Agreement on Adhesion together with accession to the Constitution of the Foundation. See Become a DMUN Member for the full process.
What rights do members have?
Regardless of category, all members hold the right to vote in the Governing Body and can stand for election as officers of the Foundation, alongside full access to its programmes.
What is the difference between a member and an observer?
Members are part of the Foundation and vote in its Governing Body. Observers are external entities accredited to follow and contribute to the Foundation’s work without voting rights. See the Observers page.
How is Honourary Membership granted?
Honourary Membership is conferred on individuals for extraordinary contributions to the Foundation or to the advancement and empowerment of young people, upon nomination by the Board of Trustees.
